Designing Again!

I’m having a blast. I’m working with 5 girls from Maryhurst teaching them the technique of etching on brass.

The 3 images above are of what the girls did last Tuesday, these are a combination of freehand and stamped designs.
For those of you unfamiliar with Maryhurst, it is a home/school for girls. They asked me if I would like to do a project with the girls. Of course I jumped at the opportunity. I love children and the energy and raw uninhibited, creativity they exhibit. The first day was fun. We worked yesterday on embellishing the brass with their hand drawn and stamped designs.
Now I’m putting the discs in etching solution. TAD-AH!
This is what they look like now that they have been etched and cleaned. The girls and I cleaned a slew of them Thursday and this is the desired result.

We get together one more time on April the 4th to work on finishing up our project. And what project is this? Time will tell. Stay tuned to see a knock out design.
The work will be displayed in 2 venues. KMAC and the Journey for Hope Luncheon. Both are fund raisers.  The second venue is the 23rd annual Journey for Hope Luncheon presented by Brown – Forman. Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Kentucky International Convention Center.
They asked me to be the alumni of the year. Thus my contribution. I’ll post more images as it evolves.
